With the additions to his squad that he has made in recent weeks, Garry Kimble is confident that his Witham Town squad now has enough depth to ensure their Ryman League premier division survival this season.
Strikers Jamie Guy and Luke Callander strengthened Town’s attacking options before Christmas, Nikki Beale has added depth at the back and manager Kimble has now brought in forward Chris Bryan, midfielder Lewis Dark and defender Luke Olley.
They have all added experience that should be valuable in keeping Witham out of the top-flight drop zone.
Despite conceding a late goal, they avoided dropping into those relegation places when drawing 1-1 against VCD Athletic last weekend and will aim to remain clear with good performances at Wingate and Finchley on Saturday and against Hendon at home on Tuesday.
Kimble said: “We still haven’t been in the bottom four this season.
“I think now, with the additions we’ve made, that we’ll be OK.
“I feel more confident now, with what I have around me, than I did two weeks ago."
