Garry Kimble admits he will have some selection dilemmas when his side head to Dulwich Hamlet in the Ryman League premier division tomorrow.

Despite a 5-2 defeat at Bognor during the week, Kimble was impressed with his players’ application and felt they deserved more from their trip to the south coast.

It was a much-changed Witham side, though, as six first-team regulars had been unavailable and with most of them returning for the game at Dulwich, Kimble said he will have some thinking to do.

He said: “It makes a difference for me with how the players who came in at Bognor played.

“You feel you have to reward the players who turned up and had a three-hour journey there and a three-hour journey back on a Tuesday night.

“They kept playing until the 95th minute and the 5-2 scoreline certainly doesn’t reflect the way we played.

“I wan’t happy with the result, but I was really happy with how the players performed and their effort.

“Now, with six players coming back in, we can go to Dulwich with no fear.

“There was a lot of energy at Bognor and I was pleased with that.

“The people who came in have asked questions about why they were left out of the previous game, so I do have a headache over my selection.

“It’s a good one to have, though, as you’d rather have that than be complaining that people have just gone through the motions.

“However, it will be hard at Dulwich as they are sitting third and are a very good team.

“We have to learn from our mistakes, but we are looking a tighter unit again, which is good.”

Kimble said the game at Dulwich would be the final one of Southend United centre-half Josh Banton’s loan spell at Witham, while one definite change will come at right-back as Conor Mead is suspended for the trip.
