Witham Town Football Club will be holding a Silent Night Carol Service at the Village Glass Stadium in Spa Road tonight.
The stadium will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, with the Chelmsford Salvation Army band and Witham’s Big Sing in attendance.
There will also be a footballing theme as young players will re-enact the game of football that took place between the British and German forces at Christmas during World War I during the service.
Prayers will be led by ministers from Witham churches and there will be a reading by Witham Mayor Janet Money.
Witham Town club chaplain, the Rev. Will Abbott, will also be in attendance and will give the blessing.
Admission to the event is free.
