Witham Town manager Garry Kimble is getting worried by his team’s mounting fixture backlog in the Ryman League premier division.
Town saw Saturday’s trip to Metropolitan Police abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch so will have to replay the fixture after Christmas and that has contributed to them being up to five games behind some of their top-flight rivals.
They will miss another chance to get league action tonight as they entertain Canvey Island in the Essex Senior Cup third round tonight (kick-off 7.45pm) and also on Saturday as they are involved in the FA Trophy.
And Kimble is worried about premier division fixtures starting to mount up.
He said: “It does concern me as we are starting to be in a situation where we have to play catch-up.
“That’s just putting more pressure on us."
