Witham Town have been handed an away game in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Garry Kimble's side will travel to Ryman League division one north high-fliers Needham Market as they bid to take their place in the fourth qualifying round for the first-ever time.

Witham earned their place in today's draw with a 4-2 win against Lewes on Saturday and they will be well aware of the challenge they face in the next round.

Needham Market and Witham faced each other in the semi-finals of last season's Ryman League division one north play-offs.

Kimble's side won that encounter before going on to take their place in the premier division, but there was acrimony after the semi-final clash between the two.

Lee Townrow had been at Witham on loan from Needham Market and lined up against them, which left the Suffolk side annoyed.

Witham said there had been an agreement between the clubs that Townrow wouldn't play in the league fixtures between them - which they honoured - but said that didn't extend to play-off clashes.

The FA Cup game will take place on October 11.
