Despite the disappointment of how their previous game ended, Witham Town manager Garry Kimble will be asking for “more of the same” from his players when they head to Margate tonight.

Witham lost their Ryman League premier division game against Billericay Town 3-2 on Saturday when they saw a two-goal lead overturned in the last 12 minutes.

But even though he was bitterly disappointed with the end result, Kimble said he couldn’t fault his players for their display in the first 80 minutes of the game and will be looking for a similar level of application in Kent tonight.

He said: “I’ll be looking for more of the same as he produced in the first 80 minutes against Billericay when we go to Margate.

“It was very disappointing, but the boys gave me everything.

“Billericay scored the three goals in the last 12 minutes, but we had battered them for the 78 before that and I couldn’t have asked for more from them.

“Everyone played their part, so how could I go into the dressing room and have a go at them?

“We just have to dust ourselves down and forget that last ten minutes.

“Margate are in form, they are the favourites to win the league and play in front of about a thousand supporters each game, but hopefully we can go there and put in a good account of ourselves.

“We have to try to be hard to beat and frustrate them.

“We’ll be going there to attack them.

“The 4-4-2 formation we have used in the last couple of games has worked wonders.

“We’ve been creating chances and been getting more and more crosses into the box.”

Kimble said left-back Seb Murfet was set to return to the squad after missing Saturday’s game through illness.
