NOW: Pensions Men’s Masters Over-40s Trophy quarter-final Northampton won 4-3 on sudden-death penalty strokes
The pressure of a penalty shoot-out proved too much for Witham Hockey Club’s veterans as they were unable to book their place in the semi-finals of the NOW: Pensions Men’s Masters Over-40s Trophy.
Witham travelled to Northampton for the quarter-final of this England Hockey trophy having never progressed this far previously and came close to claiming a historic victory Man-of-the-match SamTaylor said: “The old boys should be very proud of this cup run.
“Another day it would have been the semi-finals, but we entertained our travelling fans and showed Witham as a real force in vets hockey.”
