No plans for loan deals as duo's return boosts Iron's options

Alan Devonshire has no plans to bolster his Braintree Town squad with new loan players at the moment.

The Iron entertain Stockport County at the Amlin Stadium tomorrow on the back of three Blue Square Bet Premier games without a win and they will be looking for points to climb from their current 15th position.

Manager Devonshire was disappointed with the way his players failed to pass the ball in their 2-0 defeat at Mansfield Town last week.

The way they resorted to long-ball tactics was branded “unacceptable” by the Iron boss and he said he may make changes to his team for the Hatters’ visit tomorrow.

Kaine Sheppard and Callum McNish are returning from loans at Histon and Eastleigh respectively ahead of the game, but Devonshire added that he isn’t looking at fresh incoming loan deals to expand his own squad options.

He said: “It don’t know yet (about making changes), but I’ll be looking at things in training this week and see how it goes.

“I do have Kaine Sheppard back from his loan spell and Callum McNish is also back.

“I’ve got more options this year than I had last year, so we’ll have to see.
“But I’ve got no plans to get any other loanees in at the moment.”
