Witham Cricket Club will be rejoining division one of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship next summer and now they want the division two title as well.

Their penultimate fixture of the season ended with an eight-wicket victory at Ipswich and East Suffolk and skipper Kaan Hawes now wants his team to finish the job they have started.

Witham host Worlington at The Park on Saturday (start 12.30pm) and know another win will secure them the division two title as well as promotion.

Worlington are one of only three sides to have beaten Witham this year, but Hawes feels his team will be a different proposition on their home wicket.

He added: “We have achieved what we really wanted with the promotion, but it would be nice to go up as champions as well.

“We know it will be a different game against Worlington this time and we can go out without any pressure as we have the promotion already sealed.

“Hopefully we can get the title as well now.”

However, Hawes said Witham will be missing prolific batsman James Suett and Jamie Rogers through personal commitments on Saturday.
