Coggeshall miss out on T20 glory

COGGESHALL’S cricketers missed out on glory after losing in the semi-finals of the PiriPiri North Essex League’s Twenty20 competition.
They were eliminated after losing to eventual champions Frinton, at Colchester’s Castle Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
Nevertheless, chairman Charlie Miller said: “It was an absolutely brilliant day, but just a pity we couldn’t repeat our performances from earlier in the competition.
“The lads feel they let themselves down a bit but it was certainly no disgrace to lose to the eventual winners and just making the semi-finals was a real achievement.
“This competition is definitely going to be a big part of our season in future years.”
