Alan Devonshire is hoping that his dealings in the transfer loan market haven’t come to an end just yet.

The January window for permanent transfers in the Football League and Conference was shut with Andy Yiadom and Chib Chilaka departing Braintree Town.

Meanwhile, the Iron's incoming business saw the addition of midfielder Brendan Kiernan on a month-long loan from AFC Wimbledon.

However, manager Devonshire isn’t finished just yet and is expecting to make use of the emergency loan capability, that extends for several weeks beyond January, to bring in at least one more fresh face for the Iron.

He said: “Brendan’s a player who has come in for us and we’re still hoping for another loan player to come in as well.

“That’s the way we have to go and it will be a young player, because that’s all we can afford."

He added: “It probably won’t be before Saturday’s game, but it will probably be before the next one.

“I’m in no rush and there are a few things I need to get sorted.”
