DUNMOW racer Alex Lynn secured a double victory at Thruxton to keep his Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship title hopes alive.

The 17-year-old now lies second in the championship with 166 points.

Lynn’s time for pole for the first race was one minute eight seconds for both races.

It helped him achieve an average speed of 123mph. Lynn enjoyed an excellent start in the first race.

He went on to cross the line first in the 15-lap race to win in a time of 17m 38s, 1.06s clear of second.

Lynn also completed the fastest lap of the race in 1m 09s, with an average speed of 122mph. Lynn got a good start in the second race and it was just a procession at the front, as the Dunmow racer left the rest of the field in his wake.

The teenager completed the 16-lap race in 16m 46s to cross the line first and once again claimed the fastest lap in a time of 1m 9s, at an average speed of 121mph.
