More than 360 athletes converged on Great Notley for the Skyline 120 Braintree 5, which also incorporated the Essex Road Running Championships.
On a chilly Sunday morning, some of the county’s top endurance runners took part in the challenging race, which was organised by Braintree and District Athletic Club.
Starting and finishing in the Skyline 120 Business Park, the route also took in Queenborough Lane, Rayne Station and part of the Flitch Way, before looping back to the end.
Last year’s winner Crispin Bloomfield broke the course record by more than 30 seconds, as he came home a clear winner in a time of 25 minutes 40 seconds.
For the Ladies, Grange Farm Trotters’ Anita Cox won in a time of 31m 34s, giving her the Essex gold medals in both the Open and Vet 35 categories.
