Rod Stringer will benefit from every penny of Braintree Town’s prize money following their FA Cup second qualifying round victory.
All £4,500 will go straight to the Iron boss’ playing budget, following their fine win over Welling United, last weekend.
It is just reward for Stringer, who has hit the ground running after taking over at Cressing Road in the summer.
He has guided Braintree to second place in the Blue Square Bet South table and has tasted defeat only once, ahead of Saturday’s trip to play Woking at Kingfield Stadium.
Braintree chairman Lee Harding is pleased with what Stringer has done so far.
He told the Times: “We’ve had some good results so far but it’s not only that – it’s also the quality of the football we’re playing.
“Last season, we were often effective but it’s probably fair to say that we also played some dour football last year, too.
“We spoke to a lot of people before appointing Rod as manager and we certainly did our homework.
“He’s been putting the time and effort in and the early indications are very positive.”
