Witham Town extended their excellent unbeaten run to ten matches with a 1-0 win at lowly Clapton.
Town boss Danny Greaves felt his side were well worth their victory but would have liked to have seen them convert more of their chances, to make the game safe.
Greaves said: “We scored early on and had we made it 2-0, it would have been game over a lot earlier.
“Our goalkeeper Rhys Madden made some good saves when we needed him too but I think we deserved it.
“We're on a fantastic run and it's something we want to keep going, because we desperately want to get out of this league.
“The club is set up to play in a higher league than the one it is in at this moment in time.”
Town had the chance to take the lead inside the opening 60 seconds when James Robinson was tripped in the area.
However, striker Rob Whitnell smashed the resultant penalty against the crossbar.
But it did not take Witham much longer to take the lead, with John Watson converting Craig Emery's cross.
Town laid siege on the Clapton goal after that but found home keeper Joe Wright in good form and were also guilty of missing some easy chances.
Witham keeper Madden did have a couple of good saves to make.
However, the first half ended with Witham only a single goal ahead, when they might have had three or four more.
It was a similar scenario throughout the second half, with Town creating chances galore.
Clapton pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages but in the end, a single goal proved enough for fifth-placed Town to chalk up their fourth successive win.
