Braintree boxers are ready for action

Braintree Boxing Club’s young fighters are preparing themselves for a big night of action at the Billericay ABC Show.

Five of the Braintree squad will be competing against boxers from clubs from Essex, Kent and London, tomorrow night.

Top prospect Robert Greaves will put his unbeaten record on the line against another undefeated boxer, from Belhus Park Gym.

Greaves has been in scintillating form recently and is looking exceptionally strong in training.

Also on the bill, excellent junior boxer Ossian Kenny will take on another strong boxer from the well-respected Harwich ABC gym.

Essex Representative Shane Wright returns to action after impressing in some hard sparring sessions at clubs including Billericay, New Astley and Canvey Island. And Josh Brand and Patrick Richardson will make their Braintree debuts at the show.

The club are also hopeful that rising star Ryan Ford will be matched in time for the event.

Braintree BC coach Sean Magee said: “This squad is without doubt the best since I took over the club, three years ago.

“The standard of the squad has improved so much over the last six months that it is unlikely most of the original squad would have been good enough to compete with these boxers.”

The show takes place at Hannakins Farm, Rosebay Avenue, Billericay – boxing starts at 8pm.

Braintree BC are hoping for a big turnout to support all of their boxers.
