Witham Town are hoping to raid two of their Essex Senior League rivals in a bid to boost their fire-power.
Town had submitted seven-day approaches for Takeley forward Joe Galsworthy and Vinny Durant, of Stansted.
Witham boss Danny Greaves is hoping he will have the opportunity to talk to the duo this week.
Greaves said: “I just feel that at the moment, we’re lacking an out-and-out goalscorer.
“Both players have caught my eye and they are good players who can go on to bigger and better things.
“As a former striker myself, it would be good to have the opportunity to help them progress.
“They are both at clubs who can’t go up because their grounds don’t meet the regulations.
“They are playing for good teams who are playing well.
“But we would give them the opportunity to play for a team that is playing good football and at a club that wants to go forward.
“They are both good players who can benefit our football club.”
