Braintree Town have released defender Andrew Howell.

And they have also allowed Adam Bailey-Dennis to join Ryman League premier division side Billericay Town on a month’s loan.

Iron boss Robbie Garvey has been re-assessing his squad.

And he has released former Queens Park Rangers player Howell, pictured below, after less than six months at the club.

Iron signed Howell in June from Tooting and Mitcham and he began the season in their starting line-up.

However, he has not figured as much in recent weeks and Garvey has now allowed him to leave.

Garvey told the Times: “It did not work out for him at Braintree but that happens sometimes.”

Youngster Bailey-Dennis – signed from Colchester United in the summer – has moved to Billericay.

“Adam is a promising young player and he was never going to be a regular straight away but he did fantastic for us early on.

“But it’s a long hard season and it’ll be good for him to get some games under his belt.”

Meanwhile, Garvey has insisted goalkeeper Nick Morgan has a future at Braintree – despite his loan move to Zamaretto League premier division leaders Farnborough.

Garvey said: “Nick originally had a problem with his groin and we brought Dave Blackmore in.

“Nicky needed to play and the opportunity came up to go to Farnborough and get matches in – but he is not out of my plans.”
