Braintree Town have offered manager Robbie Garvey the chance to commit his long-term future to the club.
Garvey has made a big impression since taking over as Iron boss last April.
Braintree have started the new Blue Square South in superb form.
And having been suitably impressed by Garvey’s efforts, chairman Lee Harding is keen to see Garvey pen a two-year contract at Cressing Road.
Garvey has been working without a contract since replacing Lee Patterson in the hot-seat, earlier this year.
stressed However, Harding stressed that the former Dagenham and Redbridge coach is under no pressure to sign the deal yet.
Harding told the Times: “We have offered Robbie a two-year contract, which is a display of how well he has done.
“He is looking at it and it’s now up to Robbie to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.
“We’re going to give Robbie time.
“We spoke about a deal when he first arrived and an agreement was drawn up.
“We’re not chasing him but we want him to know that we’re very happy with the work that he’s doing.
“We want our players to have a fire in their belly and he shares that vision.”
Garvey said he is considering the terms of the longer deal offered to him by Braintree.
He said: “I’m very happy with what’s happening at the moment and we’re talking about it.”
