Braintree Town were knocked out of the Setanta Shield by rivals Chelmsford City last night.
The Iron were beaten 3-1 at Melbourne Park, in the second round clash.
Former Maldon Town midfielder Ollie Berquez netted twice in the first half for the home side.
And when former Braintree striker Bertie Brayley scored a third for Chelmsford just after the hour mark, the writing was on the wall for the Iron.
Gareth Williams scored a late consolation for Lee Patterson's side but it was too little, too late for Braintree.
