Braintree Town manager Lee Patterson is set to ring the changes for his side’s trip to play Blue Square South leaders Hayes and Yeading tomorow.

Patterson was left disappointed by Iron’s performance in their 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Kingstonian last weekend.

He felt that as many as half a dozen players in his starting line-up were below par at Kingsmeadow.

And they are likely to pay the price by being dropped from the side.

Defensive trio Mark Jones, Ryan Moran and Billy Burgess – who is available again after suspension – are all set to return.

And new signing Danny Hockton is in line to make his first start for Braintree in attack, following his four-figure move from Blue Square South rivals Bromley.

The 28-year-old, who spent eight years at Millwall where he made 35 League appearances, has also had spells at Stevenage Borough, Dover, Crawley and Billericay.

He will link-up again with striker Gareth Williams, with whom he enjoyed a prolific partnership at Bromley last season.

Patterson said: “Danny will give us something different.

“I hope he is a player that will score lots of goals for us.”
