Witham Town assistant manager Paul Daley has left the club.
The former Dagenham and Redbridge goalkeeper was brought in as Town’s number two in the summer, following the appointment of Tony Last as permanent manager.
However, Daley has parted company with the Ryman League division one north strugglers and joined Essex Senior League club Barkingside as a player.
Last said: “Paul had so many commitments with coaching, both with the Witham academy and his goalkeepers’ course.”
Witham have moved quickly to appoint Adam Flint as their new assistant.
He has moved up from the reserves, with Neil Oval succeeding him as second-string boss.
“Adam has played in the FA Vase semi-finals for Tiptree United,” said Last.
“He is only 26 years old but a bad knee injury has stopped him from playing.
“I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Meanwhile, Witham have re-signed defender Michael Toner, from Brentwood and submitted a seven-day approach for Ilford striker Chris Thomas.
Witham, who were thrashed 5-1 at home by Potters Bar Town last night, do not have a game this weekend.
