Braintree Town boss Lee Patterson wants to see his side hit the ground running.
The Iron take on Dorchester on Saturday, in their first game in Blue Square South.
Patterson is embarking on his first full season as Braintree boss, after succeeding George Borg last October.
He said: “Expectations are high and we want to get off to the best possible start.
“There’s no respite at the start of the season and we have to try and hit the ground running.”
“Winning in pre-season can give you a false confidence.
“It has highlighted to me where we will need to work on things.
Braintree are waiting on the fitness of Billy Burgess (thigh), Mark Jones (calf) and Gareth Williams (dead leg) for the Dorchester clash.
Wayne O’Sullivan will definitely miss the game with a facial injury while Andy Porter is banned.
