BRAINTREE Town have completed a double signing to boost their National League South play-off push, writes DAVID WARD.

The Iron have re-signed Baris Altintop from Dartford and have also sealed the signing of Oxford City's Lewis Miccio.

Both Altintop and Miccio go straight into the Braintree squad for tomorrow's trip to play Farnborough.

The big news is the re-signing of utility player Altintop, last season's player of the year at Braintree.

He asked to be released from his contract at Iron's National League South rivals Dartford earlier in the week, stating: "I wasn't enjoying my football there."

Braintree and Witham Times:

Altintop now goes into the first team squad and is eagerly looking forward to be reuniting with the team and playing at Cressing Road.

He added: "I'm looking forward to playing there again as I really enjoyed my time here last season and getting to the play-offs and that's the aim again for this season.

"Training with the players tonight was big boost again."

Iron boss Angelo Harrop said: "I'm really pleased to get Baris on board again as he played a major part in our success last season and again strengthens our squad and I know supporters will be really pleased to see him return as he was a popular player last season."

Miccio, 25, has arrived from National League side Oxford City.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to playing for the Iron and I did play again them last season before City were promoted.

"There is a great atmosphere amongst the players within the squad and I have enjoyed my first training sessions.

"I am really keen to get in the side and play a part in helping the Iron to again push forward and make the play-offs."

Braintree head into their game at Farnborough tomorrow in seventh place in the National League South table.
