Halstead Town stayed the Thurlow Nunn League division one south's top dogs despite a rocky first-half against visiting Fire United.
The Humbugs were not at their best in the opening half and trailed 1-0 but they staged a late recovery and Joe Jones put them level just before the break.
It was a better second half from Town and they won the game with a Callum Vincent strike that kept them in top spot in the league.
Wivenhoe Town took a point from their trip to Lopes Tavares as the Dragons held their hosts to a 0-0 draw and Braintree Town Reserves took a point from their home game against Frenford.
The Young Irons were leading 3-1 heading into the final 20 minutes but late goals from Frenford earned them a point at Cressing Road.
Brightlinesea Regent Reserves lost 1-0 at Benfleet, though, and Harwich and Parkeston also lost as they were beaten 3-2 at Hashtag United.
The Shrimpers scored in the 92nd minute to make it tight at the end, but they couldn't find an equaliser to prevent their hosts winning a fourth straight game.
