BOCKING Alliance Bowls Club are celebrating a double success.
After winning the Essex County Group Two Memorial Shield Trophy for the first time in 2017, Bocking Alliance returned to the final again this year at Tiptree.
After a hard-fought match over two rinks against Silver End, they retained the Trophy, winning by 41 shots to 39.
The Bocking Alliance rinks were Andy Shuttlewood, Richard Allen, Keith Sneyd, Rodger King, Trevor Turner, Paul Hildersley, Ray Harris and Phil Wood.
In addition, on the same day at Tiptree, Bocking Alliance overcame Silver End again over two rinks to win a second Essex County Group Two trophy - the Widdup Cup.
The Bocking team of Michael May, Ted Hawkes, Keith Macdonald, Ivan Butcher, Steve Pattenden, Mick Jaggard, David Hales and Peter Young triumphed 43-27 this time.
This is first time in Bocking Alliance Bowls Club history that they have achieved this double victory.
