HIS side may be riding high at the summit of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division two table, but Braintree Cricket Club skipper Dan Garner insists nothing changes for them.

A five-wicket win against Mildenhall seconds, coupled with defeats for Haverhill and Lakenheath, saw Braintree move up from third to first and they now lead the way in the promotion race with just eight games to go.

It's a good position to be in as they look to extend their winning run to eight games when they head to Sudbury twos on Saturday, but leaders or not, Garner says it will be business as usual for his players.

He said: "We are now the team to chase, but we have always been one of the teams that people want to beat.

"So for me, nothing changes in how we look at our games.

"We just have to carry on with the same mentality and that’s to win every game."

Garner said Braintree would be weakened for the trip to Sudbury as they were set to be without Will Jackson, Warren Celiz, Rory Ainsley and Louis Cant as well as having an injury concern with Dean Bass.
