COGGESHALL Cricket Club are gearing up for another big week of action at their annual Cricket and Beer Festival when some legends of the game will be coming to Harefield once again along with renowned broadcaster Henry Blofeld.

The Cricket Week will take place at he club's home ground in Kelvedon Road between July 27 and August 3.

It gets under way with a visit on July 27 of the famous Lashings All Stars side, when a squad that includes former international stars such as Monty Panesar, Tino Best and Gordon Greenidge, will face Coggeshall in a T20 game.

Legendary cricket commentator Blofeld, who is affectionately known as Blowers and retired after decades behind the microphone from the BBC's Test match Special team last year, is also due to be in attendance on the day.

Gates will open at 11am, with the match starting at 4pm and admission is free, with corporate packages and sponsorship opportunities available.

The Lashings game kick starts an exciting week of action at Harefield that will see Essex seconds facing Kent seconds over three days and in a T20 match and also a Ladies' Day.

Running alongside the cricket action on the pitch is a beer festival when 40 ales will be on tap, with other entertainments also going on throughout the week.
