THE 30th annual Sir Henry Cotton Bursary Cup was contested by 25 teams at Gosfield Lake Golf Club.
Initiated at the suggestion of Sir Henry Cotton, the three-time Open champion and designer of both courses at Gosfield, this Bursary event has raised many thousands of pounds for the benefit of the club's juniors.
The winning team was the Lemon Tree, with Nigel Collings, Jake Letham, Mick Harris and Ray Brown returning 131 points to win by five.
The drama was left to the next three teams.
In second place, with 126 points, were Hedingham Sports and Social - Colin Goudie, Derek Pettigrew, Rob Murray and Craig Ogburn - two points ahead of The Rams team of Steve Butler, Richard Beavis, Adam Bezdel and Mike Newson.
The fourth-placed team was Mrs Brown’s Boys with Rob Brown, David Turner, Scott Howarth and John Taylor scoring 123 points.
Best individual score for a man was Jake Letham with 45 points and best individual score for a lady was Chelsea Bernardine with 36.
Best points score on the par threes was Roger Bramwell and the best junior score was Shaw Radley with 36.
