WINS for Bryan Willis, Stewart Chapman and Paul Cain in the final three games saw Cressing A have the singles and match won on their Braintree Open Darts League division one trip to Wethersfield Club.

The hosts had won the pairs 3-0 and drawn the ladies and triples, before wins for Dave Suckling and Kevin Taylor, but Cressing hit back with a strong finish.

Eagle B and Notley Sports played out a draw in the ladies' competition, but with a 2-1 win for the Eagle in the pairs and a draw in the triples, they had the match advantage going into the singles.

The Eagle's lead was extended by wins for Richard Chandler and Andy Smith, before Mick Hyham, Ted Ullmer and Jon Islip took the next three for Notley, but Kevin Byrne and Alex Chandler gave singles and overall success to the Eagle.

Swiss Bell took the ladies and pairs at the Retreat, who responded with a win in the triples and a opening singles win for Peter Hinkson, but Andy Holland and Tony Holland put the visitors back in front with wins in the next two.

Steve O'Neil' win saw the Retreat back in the hunt but Danny Lynn, Chris Holden and Ann Farmer took the remaining games as the Swiss had the singles and match points secured.

In division two, Eagle A won the pairs 2-1 at Cressing B and although there were ladies and triples draws, the visitors claimed all seven of the singles matches.

Horse and Groom won the ladies and pairs and drew the triples against Wethersfield Raiders, who reduced the deficit with a singles win for Tony Boreham, before it was widened again with a success for Tash Whitfield.

Rob Camp, Brendan Hand and James Copton secured the singles points for Wethersfield with wins in the next three games, but Mark Cook and Brian Thomas won for the Groom to ensure an overall draw.

The Welsh Princess were just ahead in the overall match going into the singles after draws in the ladies and triples and a 2-1 win in the pairs against the Angel.

Andre Thomas and Malcolm Stark got the Angel ahead with wins in the first two singles but Tom Walkingshaw levelled the match for the Welsh, who finished well to take the singles and the match.

Bryan Willis, Richard Grocett and Steve O'Neil all hit 180s and high out shots were recorded by James Copton (110), and Tony Bamsey (105).
