THE final event of the Essex Cross-Country League season at Gloucester Park in Basildon proved to be an uplifting experience for Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners.
The club was represented by nine women and seven men, with the first four women and six men scoring team points.
Rebecca Davidson was the fastest woman for the club, with Hannah McIlvenna, Kerry Harrington and Karen Pickering also scoring points.
Grange Farm’s men were led home by Lee Pickering, followed by Matt Bainbridge, Dan Reynolds, Kevin Marshall, Ian Lawson, Ashwin Shah and Lee Prowse.
Since this was the club’s first season in the league, both the women’s and men’s teams had run in division two.
Impressive performances throughout the season saw their ladies finish as division two champions, ahead of ten other clubs, while the men finished third out of 13, resulting in both teams being promoted to division one.
