FOLLOWING match and singles wins over the Eagle B, Cressing A are Braintree Open Darts League overall summer and singles champions with one match still to play.

Dependant on results from the last games of the season, Cressing could also be crowned pairs and triples champions.

Meanwhile, Cressing B hosted Wethersfield Raiders and after suffering the early setback of a 3-0 loss in the pairs, fought back to secure a draw in the triples.

Honours were shared up to the fifth game in the singles as the overall match stayed on a knife edge but with Andi Thomas and Rob Camp winning the final two for Wethersfield they had the points secured.

Eagle A travelled to Wethersfield Club and, with a 2-1 win in the pairs followed by a draw in the triples, had the match advantage going into the singles.

The visitors extended their lead and turned it into match and singles victories with wins for Dan Taylor, Dave Wren, Matt Last, Chris Cook and Paul Little in the first five games.

Braintree Football Club were on the back foot against visiting Bocking Club after losing the pairs 3-0, however, a draw in the triples gave the hosts a boost going into the singles.

Wins for Mark Tilly, Alan Deewar and Hayden Acott put the hosts on level terms before Sam and Peter Hayden took the next two for Bocking, but Lynn Kelly and Dawn Kennedy sealed singles points for the Football Club and an overall draw.

Dawn Kennedy, Ernie Holden, Barry Jeggo, Billy Knight-Wood and Tony Bamsey all hit 180s and high out shots were recorded by Alex handler 112, Martin Compton 116, Dicky Pryke 103 and Dave Wren 121.
