THE Braintree and Bocking team ended their winning run in the Essex Interclub League as they finished their latest match in third place but they do still remain top of the league standings.
The Maldon team won the round and hosts Does AC beat Braintree in the team knock-out, but Mark Banks and Danny Mason are both through to the last four in the individual knock-out.
The Braintree Club Sweep at Notley on Sunday had a slow start and hectic finish, as the carp fed in the last hour and most of the weights came in that time.
Chris Orrin had three carp and several F1s with a few silvers to win the match with 20-15-0.
Sections (excluding winner): 1 M Orrin 17-12-0, 2. P Thompson 14-8-8.
The Friday match on the same venue had produced more evenly throughout the match and in a close finish the verdict went to Jim Loosley, who weighed 16-10-0 of carp and F1s to beat Bob Reed who had two bigger carp in his second-placed 16-0-0.
