SILVER End racer Toby Bearne returned to action after a three-month break and showed he has the pace to prosper in the remaining rounds of this year's

Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup season.

Bearne was soon back on form as he returned to racing at Rockingham to compete in the series, which is a support to the British Touring Car Championship.

It was screened live on ITV4 and in front of between 40,000 and 50,000 spectators and, while he used the event to get used to a tough step up in action, Bearne, who was racing for TeamHARD, showed he had the pace in the three-race round to feature in the remaining rounds at Silverstone next month.

He said: I was very happy with race one as it was my first time starting the car off the line.

"It was difficult but I was straight into the pack and got amongst the action, showing very good race pace and doing some good moves.

"It seemed like everyone around me kept falling off the track but I kept my head and didn't make any mistakes.

"Race two was my favourite race of the year.

"I got stuck right in and showed very good race pace again as the second fastest in my class.

"I had some awesome racing and although two spins put me right at the back, I had loads of fun and showed I'm in it to fill races."

A snapped drive shaft scuppered Bearne's hopes in the final race of the weekend but he is now looking for a strong finish to his season at Silverstone.

He added: "I can't thank TeamHard's Tony Gilham, Eddy Hall, Aaran Stroud and everyone enough.

"I really enjoyed my first weekend in the Ginetta Super Cup but nothing could be possible without my sponsor TEXO Scaffolding and Construction.

"Thanks also to all my family and friends for coming and supporting me - roll on Silverstone."
