Two late goals for hosts Aveley left Witham Town still searching for their first Bostik League division north points of the season.

Following defeats in their first two league games, Witham had looked to be on course for a win heading into the final minutes of their Friday night fixture at Aveley.

Elliott Ronto's 78th minute strike had given Adam Flint's side the lead, however, the game was turned on its head in the closing moments of the game.

First, Jack West pulled Aveley level with a 90th minute strike and worse was to come for Witham as they were denied even a draw when Jordan Watson scored an even later winner for the hosts.

There was no time for Witham to come back as the gam ended in a 2-1 defeat for them that left them pointless after three league games.

Witham will be hoping to finally post points on the board on Bank Holiday Monday when they entertain Barking at the Village Glass Stadium.
