Nazeing edged the morning foursomes 3-2 with Braintree wins coming from Mike Latta and Andy Dodsley and Chris Cooper and Andy Wiffen.

The Stisted team won the first four singles in the afternoon and halved next two to secure seven points, before Tony Bannister halved the penultimate game to square the match.

There were single wins for Andy Goldsmith, Sam Bollen, Latta and Dodsley while Cooper, Wiffen and Bannister secured halves, before Nazeing won the play-off.

The Braintree GC ladies enjoyed better fortune when they beat visitors Burnham 3-2, in the Harris Bowl.
