RYAN Cook claimed victory for the Jetts in their Essex Invitation Petanque League KO Cup match against Wethersfield Hopps.

His 13-6 win over Kim Speed sealed his side's quarter-final triumph, over their club-mates.

Wethersfield took the triples 13-6 but the Jetts' Terry Whiting and Eric Smith took the pairs 13-10, to level the ties before Cook won it for his side.

Billericay Meadows hosted unbeaten division one leaders Bocking Poachers and won through to the semi-final with a 2-1 win.

At Bocking, the Cock played Bocking Boules and progressed with a 2-1 win.

They won both triples and pairs but Boules had a consolation singles win.

In the final tie, Broomfield FC progressed 2-1 at the expense of Little Totham Swan.

Dave Bird, Nikki Parrish and Trevor Blows won the triples.

In a close singles, Blows beat Steve Read 13-9 to seal the win.

The Swan pairing of Darren Podger and Andy Upton won but it took the shot of the match from Upton to rescue the game.

In the KO plate, Billericay Lakes won through their tie with Bardfield.

They are joined in the semi-final by Thorley who beat Three Elms G, with both matches ending 2-1 to the home sides.

Broomfield FC hosted a triples competition and after five hours play, it was the two sides from Hanbury that contested the final.

Sean Daisley, Chris Willmott and Francois Bourquin beat their club-mates 13-2, in a one-sided final.

Thorley (Jon Sellar, Ernie Botley and guest Dan Blows) took third place after a close win over Bocking Poachers.
