A SECOND consecutive clean sweep of wins has left Cressing's Tyrone Stansfield with a healthy lead at the top of the junior standings in the Birel ART Uk Karting Series.

The Alex Hunter Academy pupil followed up a perfect third round in Wales with another full set of wins when he headed to Fulbeck in Lincolnshire for the fourth round of the UK national series.

He said: "I felt ecstatic that I had managed to achieve a clean sweep again.

"Out of 12 races this season, I have won eight of them and that has left me topping the leader board with a 42-point margin over second place and 55 over third.

"We are now halfway through the season and I couldn't be happier with my results."

Having been quickest in practice at Fulbeck, Stansfield continued an amazing run in qualifying as he wrapped up a third pole position of the year and his 12th consecutive place on the front row of the grid.

A good start in the heat race saw him lead from the front to take the win by more than two seconds and an equally dominant display in the pre-final kept his run of wins going.

It meant Stansfield started the final on pole position again and he raced away to finish almost nine seconds ahead of the next best racer and more than 13 clear of third as his perfect weekend was concluded in style.

He added: "My dad has done a great job getting the kart set-up perfect and as a 'Dad and Lad' set-up, we are doing well against some other drivers who have a professional mechanic and team mentoring at the rounds.

"Clay Pigeon in Dorset is next on the calendar in July, so we hope to keep the momentum going."

Stanstield thanked the support of sponsors K & B Tatam, G & B Finch, Kingwell Environmental and BODYFIT4TRAINING.
