BRAINTREE and Bocking Swimming Club's Charles Rennie secured his best-ever results from a regional competition as he competed at the ASA Easter Championships in Luton.

The 16-year-old Braintree swimmer had qualified to swim at these championships in previous years but he eclipsed that this year.

Having qualified to swim in five individual events, Rennie claimed four personals bests and made it into the finals of the 50 metre breaststroke and 100m breaststroke.

He only narrowly missed returning with a regional medal after being placed fourth in the 50m breaststroke and sixth in the 100m breaststroke with a fantastic set of results.

Meanwhile, regional championships for age groups 14 years and under will be taking place in Norwich later this month and a number of talented Braintree and Bocking youngsters will be competing.
