BRAINTREE Hockey Club, in liaison with Active Braintree District Network, are introducing a new slower-paced way to play the game of hockey in the area.

Starting on May 18 at 6pm at Braintree's ground in Church Street, walking hockey sessions are available to everyone.

Walking hockey is a format of the game aimed at people who wish to participate but cannot or do not wish to run around.

They may be hampered by injury, no longer able to play the full-pace sport due to age, looking for a slower introduction to hockey or wanting to be involved in light fitness activity.

Braintree are planning on hosting six initial sessions, starting on May 18, and running every Thursday.

The sessions are free and there is no experience required.

Anyone wanting more information or to book a place can contact Braintree chairman Chris Card at 07720 725029, by email at chairman@braintreehc.co.uk or at www.braintreehc.co.uk/braintree-walking-hockey
