BRAINTREE Sea Angling Club members travelled to Eastbourne in search of plaice which were being reported down on the south coast.
Fishing in bright sunshine and an almost flat sea, bites were very slow.
A few fish were caught on the flood but on the ebb, the bites stopped.
At the end of the match, it was Barrie Senior that took first place, with two whiting, one rockling, one dab and a 36cm plaice for 82 points.
Second spot went to Paul Drake with one plaice and two whiting for 63 points.
Just behind, with 61 points, was Chris Bull from his catch of one plaice, one bass and a whiting.
