FELSTED School’s under-13 boys’ hockey team have been crowned national champions after winning six of their seven games in the IAPS Hockey National Finals.
With four pools of five teams competing, Felsted made a strong start, beating Bromsgrove 3-0, St Hugh’s 2-0, Cargilfield 2-0 and drawing 0-0 with Forres Sandle Manor.
They then beat St John’s Cambridge 1-0 in the quarter finals, Bishop’s Stortford College 2-0 in the semi-finals and Clifton College 2-1 in the final.
Felsted hockey coach Bruce Evans said; “It was an amazing day of high quality hockey.
"The Felsted squad kept their composure and raised their standard to play consistently throughout all matches.”
Meanwhile, two more Felsted Hockey teams are through to the National Finals.
The under-16 boys secured a 2-1 win against QEGS Wakefield in the national play-off of the England Hockey Cup, while the under-14s beat Canford 4-3 to make them Felsted's fourth national hockey finalists this season.
