ADAM Greenaway took triumph in the Sunday Stableford at Braintree Golf Club.

Greenaway, off 17 handicap, posted 42 points, while Lee Collis (23), fresh from his Winter League victory a week earlier, finished runner-up with 40 and Gary Spurrier (7) was third with 39.

A total of 42 points also won the Saturday Stableford in favour of Joseph Mason, another 17 handicapper.

He finished three points clear of Colin Pace (24) while there was a countback for third spot on 38 points with Chris Pestell (17) getting the verdict over the other Winter League winner, Andrew Fowler (10).

The ladies’ Stableford was won by Pauline Haggerty (36) with 35 points, one better than Carol Cuthbertson (19) while Diana Reeve (16) with third with 32 on countback from Elizabeth Maynard (18).

The Seniors’ Spring Meeting was won by Kenneth Rose (9) and Michael Collard (21) with 42 points.

There was a countback for second spot on 41, with David Bethell (14) and Ron Ship (23) edging out David Woollcott (13) and Robert Young (21).

Five more pairs returned 40 points and after another countback the order was Nigel Harris (9) and Andrew Styles (23) followed by Steve Lythell (9) and Michael Ellis (14), Rodney Booth (7) and Gordon Hewitt (15), Mark Whitfield (14) and Edward Lindo (6) and Trevor Long (14) and Mike Gale (23).

The Braintree seniors held their AGM and out-going captain Andy Little handed over a cheque for £3,250 to his charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind.
