BRAINTREE Rugby Club held their 20th annual Mini Rugby Festival, w ith 13 clubs and 81 teams playing on 19 pitches on a very blustery but very busy day.
This was the first year the tournament was being played on the Kids First principle, with no overall winners and teams playing a maximum of five games.
The festival organisers were Corinne and Barrie Winwood, who started the festival two decades ago and still organise and run it now.
Corinne said: "We weren't too sure how this would work out, not keeping scores or having overall winners, but the children certainly seemed to enjoy the day.
"Every child walked away with a participation medal."
