THERE was a triple triumph for Felsted School as three of their girls’ sports teams secured their places in national netball and hockey finals.
The under-19 girls’ hockey team are through to the SMILE Independent Schools Hockey Cup national final after a nail-biting semi-final match against a strong Reed’s side.
Reed’s were leading 2-1 until the final five minutes, but Felsted equalised and scored a late winner to book a national final against Millfield School at the Lee Valley Olympic Park, which is being played today.
Director of girls’ hockey, Loren Sherer, said; “I am immensely proud of the girls. They never gave up and showed fantastic character to turn the game around in the way that they did.”
Meanwhile, Felsted’s under-12 and under-13 netball teams are through to the IAPS national final after their success in the East Regional tournament.
The under-13s won all nine of their games to be crowned winners, while the under-12s won six of their eight game to finish as runners-up.
