BRAINTREE and Bocking Angling Society matches once again saw the same angler win both matches over the same weekend.
Six proved to be the lucky number for Jim Loosley, as he drew peg six at Notley on Friday and landing small carp, F1s and silver fish he won the match with 16-2-0.
Second on the day was Penny Turner, who netted three carp, along with some silvers to weigh 12-7-0.
Two days later, the Ash Grounds lake at the Fennes was the venue and againLoosley pulled out number six, which was permanent peg nine.
The fishing improved during the day and after catching roach early, the last hour saw bream move over his feed and he landed several good fish to finish with a match-winning 32-1-0.
Sections (excluding winner): 1 S White 15-6-0, 2 M Campion 19-9-0.
On Sunday the club are on Hill and Black at the Fennes.
