ROUND six of Colne Valley Golf Club's Winter League took place in tricky conditions but they were mastered most effectively by Tony Murton and Adam Grimshaw.

This round saw a better ball bogey competition, with 28 pairs battling it out for top honours.

A fantastic score from Murton and Grimshaw of +7 saw them victorious over the field.

Brian Amos and Stuart Collingridge were second, beating the pairing of Peter Thomas and Peter Goodwin into third on countback after both pairs finished on +5.

With just two rounds left to play before the knockout stages it was all change at the top of the league.

Murton and Grimshaw's win saw them leapfrog into first place, with Steve Taylor and Andy Wilkinson now second and Russel Bell and Jack Perfect-Brown third.

Meanwhile, Colne Valley's ladies enjoyed a five clubs and putter competition in bitterly cold and frosty conditions.

Sue Drysdale got the better of the unusual bounces to come home as the winner with 33 points, followed in second by Jan Edwards.
