BOCKING Club took overall Braintree Open Darts League match honours on their trip to the Eagle A, but it was the hosts who had success in the singles competition.

Bocking won the pairs 3-0 and the triples and had Dave Joyce and Phil Watkins taking their singles matches, but the Eagle had Barry Old, Kelvin Byrne, Kevin Byrne and Matt Last giving them the points.

Notley Sports were soon on the back foot against the Retreat, going down 3-0 in the pairs and losing the triples, before going down in the first five singles games.

Legends also took the pairs and triples against Horse and Groom and the advantage was further extended with wins for Dan Taylor and Ernie Holden in the opening two singles.

Mark Cook gave the Groom some hope but that was the end of the Groom's revival with Aaron Holden, Chris Holden and Tony Tatum winning the next three for Legends.

Wethersfield Club gave themselves a match lead with a 3-0 win in the pairs but a draw in the triples put Cressing B back in the hunt.

The singles saw honours shared in the opening exchanges, but Kevin Taylor's win in the fifth earned Wethersfield the match points and with Paul Bragg chalking up a 2-0 win, they had the singles won as well.

Cressing A's 2-1 pairs win and a win in the triples set them up for a match win against Wethersfield Raiders and with Bryan Willis and Sam Hayden winning the first two singles, they were looking for one more win for the match points. Brendan Hand's win gave the Raiders some hope but Cressing claimed all the remaining games.

Wins in the pairs, triples and opening two singles gave Braintree Football Club the advantage against Swiss Bell.

Bex Farmer's win put a halt to the Football Club's progress but they continued with Lynn Kelly, Alan Dewar, Andy Slade and Chris Baker all chalking up victories.

John Abbott hit a 180 while Peter Hinkson hit a 158 out shot, Tony Bamsey a 108 and in the ladies' competition, Tracie Hayden hit a 65.
