BRAINTREE Tennis Club's boys' 14 and under B team had a good end to their year when they played Marconi at home and won all their matches.

Jack Davidson, Harry Phillips, Ethan Sutherland and Josh Packer played well with some great rallies.

Braintree’s nine and under Orange team also faced a side from Marconi in the Halstead and District Junior Tennis League.

In conditions far from perfect, the Braintree team had three players competing in their first match and the action didn’t disappoint.

Albert Orley, William Rogers and Thomas Williams won all their singles matches in straight sets and only one doubles match went to a third-set tie-break with the Braintree pair of Rogers and Williams taking the winning set.

The overall team score was 10-0 to Braintree.

Marconi were also the opponents for Braintree's 14 and under boys' C team.

Again, conditions were not ideal, but despite the weather, all players pulled out great performances.

Braintree had three new players in their first yellow ball match and all of them won their debut singles and doubles games.

The Braintree players were Jacob Chillingworth, Jules Hardy and Giosue Calleja and Harry Briffa and they managed a 5-1 victory.
