GRANGE Farm and Dunmow Runners hosted the annual Remembrance Sunday ten-mile road race at Stebbing.

The race raises money for the Royal British Legion, Stebbing Primary School and the Stebbing community mini-bus and the 461 competitors joined the congregation for the two-minute silence at the village War Memorial before starting.

The winner was James Caldon of Benfleet Running Club in 57 minutes 15 seconds, while Fiona Halls, of Saffron Striders, was the fastest female in one hour 8m 16s.

Age category winners were: M40 Ty Farrer, M50 Mark Turner (1.03.56), M60 Ollie Caulfield (Born2Tri, 1.13.41) and M70 Alan Wilson (Bishop’s Stortford Running Club, 1.20.54).

For the women: F35 Halls, F45 Carinne Jay, F55 Beryl de Smedt (Phoenix Striders, 1.22.09) and F65 Judith Jolly (Britannia Athletic Club, 1.35.52).

The men’s team award went to Benfleet Running Club and the women’s to Harlow Running Club.

Meanwhile, Grange Farm's David Kelsey ran the Las Vegas Half-Marathon in 1h 54m 51s.
